We have another ride going down for a temporary closure. Will it affect your trip?
Temporary Closures
It can be so disappointing to visit a theme park only to find that one of the attractions you really wanted to experience is closed. Of course, it would be even MORE disappointing if theme parks never took the time to refurbish attractions and let them become dangerous for Guests.
So, while it can be disappointing to find your favorite or most highly anticipated experience closed, it is typically to keep everything safe and up to date.
Fortunately, the internet helps the word to spread fast so that you can plan your trips around closures. It also helps to manage expectations when something is down with short notice.
A Roller Coaster Closure
Universal Orlando has posted a note on its website that one of its thrill rides will be temporarily closed. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is closing soon!
Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is a roller coaster in Universal Studios at Universal Orlando. It allows riders to select a song to listen to as they climb, loop, and plummet over Universal!
The ride is probably best known for its terrifying vertical ascent. It presents an intimidating visual as riders approach, and it is every bit as thrilling (or terrifying) as one would imagine to travel STRAIGHT UP with your back parallel to the ground.
While there is not a specific reason listed on the website, it is likely down for maintenance or a brief refurbishment. Perhaps it will return with a better ride experience for guests.
Closure Dates
Right now, Universal Orlando has the dates for the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit temporary closure listed as August 14-18, 2023. That is happening SOON! While it is only a 5-day closure, it could have a big impact on trips during that time. Be sure to prepare accordingly if it will be down during your dates and you have a traveler in your party who really wanted to take on this beast of a coaster.
Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios will be closed from August 14-18, 2023.
Have you tried Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit yet? Will it be closed during your visit to Universal Orlando? Let us know in the comments. And be sure to share the news with your friends traveling to Universal so that they know whether their plans will be affected.
