Disney World in August
Some people are dead set against traveling to Disney during the summer. After all, it is dreadfully hot. However, you might find that the benefits of summer travel outweigh even the highest temperatures.
All things considered, August can be a fun time to go to Disney! This is particularly true if you can travel later in the month when many schools have already started back, creating lower weekday crowds. Check out this post for a round up of the top 5 reasons for loving Disney in August in no particular order.

Magic Kingdom
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party kicks off in August, so you need to be aware that the park will close at 6:00 pm on those nights. If you do not have a party ticket you will not be able to access any attractions and you will be kindly escorted out.
Typically, the park opens up at 9:00 am. However, on August 22 and 25 the park will open at 8:00 am instead. This pushes early entry to 7:30 am. Since this is a party day, this would be an excellent day to visit Magic Kingdom! You get an extra hour in the morning, and crowds will be low throughout the day.
Hollywood Studios
For the week of August 20 to 26, you will want to note the new change. On these days, the park will open at 8:30 am which pushes early entry to 8:00 am. An extra 30 minutes may not seem like much, but it definitely can help in a park with so many headliners!
The park will continue to close at 9:00 pm each night.
Animal Kingdom
Following the same schedule as Hollywood Studios, if you are visiting Animal Kingdom during the week of August 20 to 26, the park will now open at 8:00 am instead of 9:00 am. Take advantage of some lower temperatures in the morning!
