Refurbishment: The Dreaded Word

Refurbishment is a dreaded word for Disney fans who will soon be visiting Disney Parks. In theory, we all understand that refurbishments are a necessary part of keeping the parks and resorts magical.

Attractions, restaurants, and amenities all close from time to time in order to keep operations running smoothly. It’s important to stay up to date on these refurbishments for your upcoming trip. You never know what may be closing!

New Refurbishment

Wilderness Lodge will see some refurbishment work in the coming days. In particular, a few dining locations will be affected.

Wilderness Lodge has a collection of dining options including a table-service restaurant, a delightful character meal, several quick-service locations, and bar/lounges. It does lack a signature dining experience. 

If Guests prefer a quick bite to eat for lunch and dinner, Geyser Point Bar & Grill has some delicious options. You can enjoy small bites and rustic fare throughout the day.

Whether you want a drink or a bite to eat, Territory Lounge is a nice, well-themed place to enjoy yourself. And, unlike bustling Lounges on the Monorail loop like Trader Sam’s, few people know about it, so it tends to be a quieter scene. You can read a full review right here.

Dates to Keep In Mind

Beginning August 23, you will begin to see and hear refurbishment work around property. Unfortunately, work that day will begin at 6:00 am. However, after that date work will begin at 9:00 am. We do not have a completion date at this time.

These locations will have temporary hours to adjust for the refurbishment:

• Geyser Point Bar & Grill dining and bar areas: 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm
• To-Go Window: 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm
• Territory Lounge: 11:00 am to 10:00 pm
