Check out this sneak peek behind the construction walls at EPCOT. Do you think this is worth the wait?
EPCOT Construction
Anyone who has been to EPCOT recently has probably noticed there is a significant amount of construction going on behind the walls at EPCOT. Part of EPCOT’s reimagining includes a Moana-themed walk-through attraction called Journey of Water. This immersive exploration trail will be in the heart of EPCOT’s World Nature neighborhood.
It will serve as a huge feature in this area of the park dedicated to “understanding and preserving the beauty, awe, and balance of the natural world.”
CommuniCore Hall
Another big project in the same area is the CommuniCore Plaza and Hall. When it opens later this year, you’ll be able to meet Mickey Mouse and his pals at CommuniCore Hall. Then, the rest of the building features exhibition space for EPCOT’s festivals.
This space will include live music and food too! You can check out the early progress on this area HERE. EPCOT will be the best park to visit with new Disney 100 offerings starting this fall. It will be interesting to see if CommuniCore opens for the beginning of this celebration.
Today, Disney revealed the new mural that will be featured on the exterior of CommuniCore Hall. This mural has a lot going on. There is a large-scale monorail seen across this HUGE mural and of course Figment.
Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse are featured in their cool retro space suits. We love the Spaceship Earth featured as well.
Other Disney pals are also featured with Donald Duck, Goofy, and more. There are so many great nods to EPCOT. Cast Members are able to check out these new designs while enjoying the Cast Member preview of the Moana Journey of Water opening soon.
When it opens later this year, you’ll be able to meet Mickey Mouse and his pals at CommuniCore Hall.
We love to think of the construction walls coming down, but we are curious if the new buildings and attractions will make up for the years of construction and blocked walkways.
What do you think of the coming Communicore Plaza and Hall and Moana water feature? Do you think this was the best use of this prime real estate or would you prefer something else here? Please let us know in the comments and share this news with your Disney pals.
