By now, Bluey needs no introduction. Although the series comes from the land down under, this delightful piece of children’s programming is so popular that it is shattering records in the United States. You can read about it right here.

Why is a series of seven-minute shorts about a family of Australian heelers so popular? The creative team behind Bluey has captured the magic that comes with being a child engaged in play and paired it tightly with some of the truths that come with growing up. It takes a whimsical, honest, and gentle approach to life, and it is appealing to audiences of all ages.

BBC Studios has partnered with Budge Studio to bring Bluey fans something BRAND NEW. The partnership resulted in Bluey: Ley’s Play, the first-ever mobile app game to allow players to play with the Heeler family!

The setting of the app is the Heeler home. Gameplay allows players to go from room to room enjoying freeplay activities with Bingo and Bluey. They can enjoy activities such as making food, playing with toys, and making music. Everything you will find in the virtual space is intentionally placed and interactive for maximum fun.

The new Bluey: Let’s Play app launched TODAY August 15, 2023. It is FREE to download on your mobile device through the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Amazon Appstore.

While it is free to download, it does allow in-app purchases. This includes a subscription to unlock characters and new scenes.

The free version comes only with Bluey and Bingo and the Kitchen and the Backyard. The subscription is required to unlock the Living Room, Playroom, Bathroom, Veranda, and Bedroom. The subscription will also unlock characters such as Bandit, Chilli, Muffin, Socks, Stripe, Trixie, Chloe, Mackenzie, Honey, Coco, Rusty, and more!

The game is rated 4+. It is certainly something that will be appealing to little ones. In fact, the littlest member of my (Katie’s) family has enjoyed cooking up a feast in the Heeler kitchen. A younger child might stay interested in just the free version for a while as there is a surprisingly large amount of fun to be had.

Are you going to be downloading Bluey: Let’s Play? Let us know in the comments. And, feel free to pass this along so that the Bluey fans in your life can enjoy the fun.
