Florida Weather

It is mid-August in the summer, and if you are in Florida you should expect HOT temperatures, rainy weather, and storms that can pop up out of nowhere at anytime during the day. This is pretty normal for this time of year in the state of Florida.

This time of year is a pretty popular time to visit Florida despite the hotter weather. Everyone is trying to fit in one last minute vacation before school begins or taking advantage of some much needed vacation time.

While you hope that weather does not impact your vacation too much, it’s important to know that it can so you want to be prepared. For those visiting Walt Disney World and other theme parks, weather can cause ride closures, delayed openings and power outages.

Travelers, the FAA is re-routing aircraft around t-storms in Florida to maintain safety this afternoon and evening. We’re pausing departures in and out of airports including @MCO, @FLLFlyer and @iflymia as needed. Get real-time updates at http://fly.faa.gov. #FAAWeatherSquad.

We have seen flights paused for Orlando International Airport many times, but it is pretty unusual to see flights being paused for three major airports in the state of Florida. If you are traveling, be sure to have patience and be prepared for any flight delays or canceled flights.
