If you have a Disney trip coming up check these dates. Another attraction is going to be down.
Refurbishment
Whether it be for mechanical issues or cosmetic updates, a refurbishment can take place for many reasons. Based on the nature of the work, the refurbishment may be a few days or several months.
Logically, refurbishment is an important part of the world of theme parks! It does the important job of upholding one of Disney’s 5 Keys: Safety. After all, no one would have much fun at all if we weren’t confident that the rides we enjoy are going to deliver us safely from start to finish!
Even so, it can spell disappointment for people when the refurbishment falls during their travel dates! Knowing about these things ahead of time can help you and your fellow travelers manage expectations and make provisions to have fun in other parts of the park as needed.
A Magic Kingdom Ride Closure
Very soon, one attraction will be closing in the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. The Liberty Square Riverboat is a beloved attraction that allows visitors to cruise the scenic Rivers of America aboard an authentic steam-powered paddle wheeler.
It is a charming and peaceful attraction that actually provides a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the parks. It also allows you to see parts of the park that aren’t visible anywhere else.
Some people see the boat and don’t even realize it is an actual ride and are delighted to discover it. You can read all about it as well as other lesser-known attractions right here. However, know that for a brief timeframe, it will be unavailable to everyone.
The Dates
This should be a relatively short refurbishment compared to some we have seen. Currently, Disney lists it as being closed with no times available from August 21- August 29, 2023. Hopefully, it will reopen on August 30, 2023 as anticipated.
