Disney Imagineers work so hard to bring the magic to life. We love to see them succeed!
Walt Disney Imagineers
Imagineers are the creative force behind Disney Parks around the world. From restaurants and attractions to entire hotels, they work very hard to bring the magic to us.
Walt Disney assembled the first Imagineers in 1952 to help him bring Disneyland to life. Later that year, Imagineering became its own entity to help distinguish it from studio productions.
Imagineer is a mash up for Imagine and Engineer – bringing creativity and technology together. In the 71 years Imagineering has been around, we have gotten cutting edge technology like Stuntronics trackless attractions.
Zach Riddley
You may know Imagineer Zach Riddley because of his extensive work overhauling Epcot. Epcot has been in a state of transformation for several years, including two new attractions and re-designing the four neighborhoods. He led a team of more than 1,500 members and partners to bring the transformation off the paper.
According to the Disney website, his work begins much sooner than this:
Zach joined Walt Disney Imagineering in 2004 where he worked on design concepts for Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea, and Disney California Adventure Park. He subsequently partnered on the research, planning strategy, and successful relaunch of Disney California Adventure Park; and contributed to the planning and development for Shanghai Disney Resort.
Promotion
Right now, Zach Riddley is the Portfolio Executive for New Experience Development. He just announced he was just promoted to the Global Creative Strategy Executive position within Walt Disney Imagineering. We can’t wait to see what he does for Disney in the future! Congratulations!
