Today, Guests were stuck on a popular ride in Disney World. Here is how it all went down.
Tower of Terror
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is an iconic attraction located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is truly one of Dinsey’s most intimidating rides. The thrill ride takes Guests into the Twilight Zone and then sends them plummeting on a 13-story freefall (as well as several others).
While Tower of Terror has tons of fans, many people will not even set foot on the ride because it has just a little too much fear factor. Well, now we have unlocked a whole new reason for Guests who are afraid to ride it to be hesitant.
When Tower of Terror Breaks Down
According to a news report from WFTV9, Guests were reportedly stuck on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride for over 45 minutes today August 18, 2023. That has got to be frightening for someone who was already unsure about riding it.
Initially, there were reports that the Reedy Creek Fire Department rescued Guests trapped on the ride. However, there must have been a mix-up as now WFYV9 has issued a statement saying that Reedy Creek Fire Department said it did not respond to the ride to help with the evacuation.
Regardless, Walt Disney World Cast Members did have to evacuate the ride. Fortunately, All guests were safely evacuated, and no one was been reported injured while the ride was down.
Guests were Stuck on Tower of Terror for over 45 minutes
It does appear that the Tower of Terror has reopened after the evacuation. It has a 145-minute wait listed as of 5:15 PM. So, at least one side is running. Guests can enjoy the attraction again…if they dare.

We were stuck on it right before the drop for about 10mins in April of this year. Lights came on & we were told to stay in our seats. It was pretty scary when it resumed-you hoped it worked properly! We were offered another ride to compensate for the issue. We claimed it & went again.
