Disney Guests can skip the virtual queue at this one attraction

For the first time, a standby line is now offered for this attraction. Will this be permanent?

A virtual queue is a lottery-type system that gives you a boarding group. Once you enter the queue and successfully obtain your boarding group, you go about your day as normal until your boarding group is called. This can be done through the Disney World and Disneyland apps for any rides that require it.

A virtual queue was first introduced with Rise of the Resistance and was later used for the opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. At various times, Disney continues to offer temporary virtual queues such as to meet Santa at Disney Springs and for big merchandise releases.

Currently, Cosmic Rewind and TRON are the only attractions offering a virtual queue at Walt Disney World. At Disneyland, World of Color-One and Rogers the Musical offer a virtual queue.

Disney officially announced that a real-life, all-new short one-act musical theater production of “Rogers: The Musical” will burst onto the stage at the Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure park for a limited-time engagement beginning June 30, 2023, through August 31, 2023.

When this first opened Disneyland shared that each day that “Rogers: The Musical” is performing, distribution for the complimentary virtual queue will begin at 10:30 a.m. PT for the first two show times of the day and 2 p.m. PT for the remaining show times of the day.

If the virtual queue reaches capacity, you can check in at the Hyperion Theater before “Rogers: The Musical” begins for any walk-up viewing options.

This has been true until today. Without any warning, the virtual queue is not available to guests visiting Disney’s California Adventure. Guests receive a push notification that “The virtual queue for Rogers: The Musical is unavailable for the 12:15 pm & 1:45 pm shows. Please use the standby line.”

At this time we are left wondering if this could affect just today’s performances or if this may affect the last few remaining shows as the final curtain will close for this show next week. We will continue to monitor the virtual queue in the next few days.

Without any warning, the virtual queue is not available to guests visiting Disney’s California Adventure.

Do you like the virtual queue system? Would you rather all attractions offer a standby queue instead? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with your Disney pals.
