Here is our first look at the new Disney World dining reservation updates

Disney promised some updates that would make it easier to make dining reservations. And, here’s our first look!

Dining Updates

It will now be easier to find and book reservations for both Disney World and Disneyland! You may recall that up until now you would have to search by time or by window (ie breakfast, lunch, or dinner).

Now, when you click on a dining location you will be able to see ALL the available reservations instead of just the ones that fit in your timeframe. This will save a lot of unnecessary clicking as you search for reservations.

In addition, reservation availability will be sorted by meal period. This allows you to see the menu for that particular meal, which can be helpful for times that teeter on the edge of two different timeframes.

NOW, WHEN YOU CLICK ON A DINING LOCATION YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE ALL THE AVAILABLE RESERVATIONS INSTEAD OF JUST THE ONES THAT FIT IN YOUR TIMEFRAME.

In the above photo, you can see what it looked like before the update. And now, you can search for Morning (before 12:00 pm), Afternoon (12:00 pm to 4:00 pm), and Evening (after 4:00 pm). See that below:

Then, when you make your selection it will list out all the available times for that particular restaurant. In my opinion, this is a great update. I was always able to find reservations by searching time rather than meal period.

It’s easier to see what exactly is available without needing to click on several different times. This is especially helpful for those hard to get reservations that may not have a lot of times available.

If you prefer to use a computer, the updates are live as well! Here’s an example of all the dining reservations available for Be Our Guest on October 23.

As you can see, the available reservations are in blue and the unavailable reservations are grayed out. Again, this makes it much easier to see all the available times.

Pirate tip: be sure to update your My Disney Experience app on your phone to see the update!
