New State of Emergency issued for nearly half of Florida

Rainy Disney Days

Since Walt Disney World is in Central Florida, rain can happen at any time. It might be a brief sprinkle or a thorough drenching. Fortunately, much of the time its gone almost as quickly as it begins. From time to time there is rain that lingers, and there might even be a storm.

Prepare with ponchos or rain gear, stroller covers, and a flexible plan during the wetter seasons. This is especially true during the summer and hurricane season.

State of Emergency

Today, August 26, Florida Governor DeSantis signed an executive order declaring a state of emergency for 33 counties in preparation for the upcoming storm. He stated that “Issuing this order today ensures communities have time to prepare for the storm system which could have impacts along the Gulf Coast next week.”

Severe Weather Forecast

Per the National Hurricane Center: “A disturbance in the Yucatan channel continues to show signs of organization. Interest in the Yucatan, W Cuba and Florida need to continue to monitor the progress of this system through the weekend.“
