Tropical Storm Idalia is moving closer to Florida. In anticipation of the storm, one Florida airport has announced that they will be closing tomorrow.

Tropical Storm Idalia is expected to affect Disney World this week. Just a few days ago Florida Governor Ron DeSantis declared a State of Emergency.
A hurricane watch has been issued for Florida – from Tampa to the panhandle on the the west coast.
Tampa International Airport
Tampa International Airport has just announced that they will be closing due to Tropical Storm Idalia. The airport will close on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 12:01 a.m.
Tampa International Airport will close on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 12:01 a.m. The airport will resume operations when it is safe to do so.
Tampa International Airport will resume operations when they are able to safely do so. Passengers are encouraged to check directly with their airlines for the latest flight updates.
As of this writing Orlando International Airport has not announced any closures, but they encourage you to check directly with your airline for the most up-to-date flight information as they do anticipate delays and/or cancellations to occur.
What does this mean for Disney World?
Right now, Disney World is expecting to operate as usual. They have just released a statement regarding Tropical Storm Idalia. Be sure to read the full statement HERE.
If you are planning to travel to Disney World this week, be sure to stay updated on the weather and Disney’s current operational status. You may want to consider bringing extra ponchos, more shoes, some additional phone chargers, and a back up plan in case any flights get canceled.
