Universal Orlando keeps rolling out the refurbishment dates. See if this one will affect your visit.
Refurbishment
There are several truths about refurbishment. One is that it is necessary for theme parks to refurbish their attractions. It keeps everything looking great and running to its best potential. Moreover, it ensures that the attractions are safe for visitors who want to experience them. After all, no one can have a great time if they are worried that an attraction could jeopardize their safety.
Another truth is that, even though they are necessary, refurbishments can be extremely disappointing. This is especially true if you have a once-in-a-lifetime trip coming up and one of the attractions you really wanted to enjoy is down.
ANOTHER Refurbishment Hits Universal’s Islands of Adventure
Universal Orlando seems to be creating an entire refurbishment line-up for Universal’s Islands of Adventure. In fact, as it stands EVERY single water ride is set to undergo refurbishment in the coming months! You can read about the plans for Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges HERE.
Universal’s Islands of Adventure has just set the date for a Jurassic Park River Adventure refurbishment. This is a popular ride, especially for fans of the film franchise. One minute, you’re gliding along in your raft. The next, you’re face to face with a giant T. rex. But perhaps the most thrilling part of the ride is its 85-foot drop that is almost sure to end in a soaking.
Any time this ride closes people wonder if new surprises may be added to it. However, there is nothing at this time to indicate that this refurbishment will be any more than routine maintenance.
Jurassic Park River Adventure Closure Dates
Typically, Universal Orlando is good about planning routine maintenance for the water rides during the cooler months of the year. And, this closure will be no exception.
As it stands, Jurassic Park River Adventure is set to close on January 8, 2024. The reopening is planned for February 1, 2024. Of course, as always, dates are subject to change depending on how swiftly the work goes.
Jurassic Park River Adventure will be closed for refurbishment Jan. 8-Feb. 1, 2024
Fortunately, the schedule for the water ride refurbishments is nicely staggered from October through March so that visitors will have 2 of the 3 water rides to enjoy during that time frame (assuming all goes according to plan). You can still enjoy Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges as well as Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls during the closure if you want to have a splashing good time.
Does the temporary closure of Jurassic Park River Adventure affect your plans for your visit to Universal Orlando? Let us know in the comments. And, feel free to pass this story along to others you know who are planning a trip so that they know whether they will be impacted.
