A virtual queue is a lottery-type system that gives you a boarding group. Once you enter the queue and successfully obtain your boarding group, you go about your day as normal until your boarding group is called. This can be done through the Disney World and Disneyland apps for any rides that require it.

A virtual queue was first introduced with Rise of the Resistance and was later used for the opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. At various times, Disney continues to offer temporary virtual queues such as to meet Santa at Disney Springs and for big merchandise releases.

Currently, Cosmic Rewind and TRON are the only attractions offering a virtual queue at Walt Disney World. Today, guests noticed a new virtual queue option on the My Disney Experience app.

Earlier this month, we shared that Walt Disney World Annual Passholders can enjoy great merchandise discounts for a limited Annual Passholder event. Be sure to check out the full details for this event HERE.

Now there is a special virtual queue to access this event. Starting on September 20, 2023, Passholders can request to join the virtual queue at 8:00 am.

Guests attending this event must bring their eligible, activated Annual Pass and a valid photo identification at check-in. Once your group is called, guests have up to 2 hours to check in at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Hopefully this will help decrease chaos and long wait times at checkout.

A new Virtual Queue will be offered for the special Annual Passholder event.

What do you think of virtual queues? Will you be attending this event? Do you wish this event did not offer a virtual queue? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with your Disney pals.
