One Universal Attraction Is About to Begin a Long Closure

Universal Orlando is about to close one of its attractions for over a month! See if this closure will impact your plans to visit.

Refurbishment

There are several truths about refurbishment. One is that it is necessary for theme parks to refurbish their attractions. It keeps everything looking great and running to its best potential. Moreover, it ensures that the attractions are safe for visitors who want to experience them. After all, no one can have a great time if they are worried that an attraction could jeopardize their safety.

Another truth is that, even though they are necessary, refurbishments can be extremely disappointing. This is especially true if you have a once-in-a-lifetime trip coming up and one of the attractions you really wanted to enjoy is down.

Goodbye For Now

Universal Orlando has announced yet another temporary closure for Islands of Adventure. And, it starts very soon.

This time it affects Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls over at Toon Lagoon. Universal describes this attraction as part roller coaster, part water flume. This ride combines the fun of the classic cartoons with edge-of-your-seat action. You’ll slosh your way through twists and turns along with lovably laughable Royal Canadian Mountie, Dudley Do-Right. As you approach a nail-biting 75-foot drop, get ready to whoosh down the track for the biggest splash of your life.

The Dates

The refurbishment for Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls begins on October 2, 2023. As of now, Universal plans to have it up and running again on November 17, 2023. Of course, that is subject to change. We always like it when projects are finished sooner than anticipated.

Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls will undergo refurbishment October 2-November 17

This means that ALL THREE water rides in Universal Islands of Adventure will be closing at some point in the near future. You can read the details for Jurassic Park River Adventure HERE and the details for Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges HERE. Fortunately, Universal is staggering the refurbishment so that they aren’t all 3 closed at once.

Typically, the water rides are down for routine maintenance during the cooler parts of the year, so this one feels a little early given Florida’s average October temperatures.

These aren’t the only refurbishments happening. Click HERE to see how refurbishment will take hold of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in BOTH Universal theme parks.
