Are you excited about the new Journey of Water attraction at EPCOT? You might want to be aware of this for when you visit.
Journey of Water
Part of EPCOT’s reimagining includes a Moana-themed walk-through attraction called Journey of Water. This immersive exploration trail will be in the heart of EPCOT’s World Nature neighborhood.
This new attraction will serve as a huge feature in this area of the park dedicated to “understanding and preserving the beauty, awe, and balance of the natural world.”
Guests have an option to “Make a splash…or stay dry!” “You can choose to get wet—or take the dry path instead—as you explore this whimsical, watery world.” For a walk through of the attraction, take a look at this post HERE.
Previews
If you are an Annual Passholder or DVC member, you have the chance to preview the attraction right now! Previews for Annual Passholders are taking place from September 24 through September 29 and October 1 through 4.
DVC members can preview the attraction during this same time.
One of the differences from other previews announced earlier, was that this attraction would NOT need any registration or utilize a virtual queue. For this event, you only need to have a park pass and enter the standby queue during normal operating hours to experience Journey of Water.
Virtual Queue
Despite announcing that a virtual queue would NOT be utilized during previews for the attraction, guests should know there is a possibility of having to use one. To see if a virtual queue is being utilized for the attraction that day, just check the Special Events section under My Queues in the My Disney Experience App.
Disney shared the following about experiencing the attraction during previews:
“We plan to open a virtual queue for Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana as needed during the preview. When the virtual queue is open, Annual Passholders can request to join after entering EPCOT by scanning the QR code located at the attraction. The standby line access for Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana may be available at park open and again after boarding groups have been called for the day. You can check back here to learn if current attraction access is via virtual queue or standby line.”
A virtual queue could possibly be utilized during previews for Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana.
Could a virtual queue be utilized for the attraction once it opens to the general public next month? Depending on crowd size and demand, it is definitely possible!
