Check out the new changes that may have you waiting longer than before to meet our favorite pal, Mickey Mouse.
Meeting Mickey Mouse
It is true that there is “Only One Mickey Mouse”, but guests have an opportunity to see Mickey Mouse at each park at Walt Disney World. One of our favorite locations to meet Mickey Mouse was at EPCOT.
Many guests seemed unaware that Mickey Mouse greeted guests at the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival. This location is just to the left of the Journey into Imagination with Figment attraction. While other parks had wait times of over an hour to meet Mickey Mouse this location had a 5 minute wait.
Mickey & Minnie at EPCOT
Mickey Mouse is now joined along with Minnie Mouse in their platinum 100 Years of Wonder costumes. There are now directional signs to notify guests of the queue for both Mickey & Minnie and Figment.
This meet and greet location is reimagined a bit, and high wait times are in place. As we joined the queue to meet Mickey & Minnie at EPCOT this afternoon, we waited over 40 minutes to meet them.
Mickey Mouse and his pals have surprised guests at Disney Resorts in their platinum 100th attire for several months. This location at EPCOT is the only official meet-and-greet location to celebrate Disney’s 100 Years of Wonder.
Be sure to allow extra time for this meet and greet if you want to celebrate the 100 Years of Wonder.
100 Years of Wonder
Epcot will be the heart of the celebration at Disney World! Back in March, we learned that the majority of the Disney 100 celebration at Disney World would take place at Epcot. You can check out the full listing of Disney 100 Experiences HERE.
Decorated with gorgeous platinum banners in honor of this celebration, EPCOT is quite festive. These can be seen throughout the parking lot and as you head into EPCOT.
Before leaving EPCOT for the day, be sure to take a selfie at the Disney 100 exit sign. This is a fun keepsake and is similar to the sign for the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World.
Disney 100 is happening now at EPCOT through December 31, 2023.
What do you think of the EPCOT being the only park to offer Disney 100th celebrations? Will you visit EPCOT to enjoy the 100 Years of Wonder celebrations? Do you hope to meet Mickey and Minnie in their 100th outfits? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with your Disney pals.
