Driving Around Disney World

Many people prefer to never get behind the wheel of a car on their vacation. But, for others, it offers a great amount of control!

We have a very helpful guide that outlines everything you need to know about driving your personal vehicle around Disney World. It includes driving to the parks and resorts and when it makes sense (and when it doesn’t) to use your own car. You can read it HERE.

Parking at Disney Springs

Parking at Disney Springs is very easy if that is what you choose to do. Self parking is free, and you should know Disney recently did away with valet parking here. There are several garages/lots, all named after fruit: Grapefruit, Lime (both near Town Center), Mango, Orange, Strawberry, and Watermelon (all on the West Side of Disney Springs).

If you have a reservation at Disney Springs, we recommend you plan to arrive 60-90 minutes ahead of time if you are visiting on the weekend. This will allow you to find parking, which can be hard to do during busier times.

It will also be helpful to look at the map ahead of time to see where you need to go and which garage/lot is closest.

According to Orlando Sentinel, several changes will take effect soon at various Disney Springs parking garages. First, the Orange and Lime garages as well as Watermelon and Mango surface lots will open at 9:00 am. This change goes into effect on October 1, 2023.

In addition, secondary access from the Orange garage is reopening! It leads to the West Side walkway between Splitsville and Everglazed.

Some of the parking at Disney Springs will open earlier to accommodate Guests.
