Love it or hate it, Genie+ is here to stay. Disney is implementing a couple of ride and price changes that are effective immediately.
Genie+
Built on top of Genie, Genie+ is a paid feature that offers more convenience and flexibility. Here is the shortened version: for $15+ per person per day at Disney World and $20+ per person per day at Disneyland, choose the next available time to arrive at a variety of attractions and experiences using the Lightning Lane entrance.
You can choose to use the standby line instead of purchasing Genie+. In doing so, Disney is not forcing you to pay for this feature. You can make one selection at a time all throughout the day. 40+ attractions are included at Walt Disney World and 15+ attractions are available at Disneyland.

Price Update
The first update pertains to Disneyland’s Genie+. Notice in that first paragraph where it says it is priced at $20 per person per day? Well, that has changed.
Now, it will be $30+ per day! If you choose to book Genie+ before the day of your visit, it will be priced at $30. But, day-of purchases could be even more. It will vary based on the day and season.
One thing is for sure: if you know you want to use Genie+ during your trip, get it ahead of time! This will alleviate any guessing on the price.
Ride Change
The second change involves Disneyland and California Adventure attractions. We previously shared that The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure will join the Genie+ lineup sometime in November. We don’t have a date to share at this time.
We have also shard that Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will join Genie+. No date was shared, but we have now learned that begins TODAY, October 11.
This was previously only available via Individual Lightning Lane, so it’s great to see this will no longer be an added expense for Guests.
What do you think of these changes? Let us know in the comments below, and share this post with a friend who is visiting soon.

We are in the top 1% of wage earners and there are two of us. Disney is pricing us out. We now to to Universal and SeaWorld. They are so much fun and offer a better value for the price.

We are DVC, but this prices us out of the parks (Canadian $ on top of increases). We will either go to Universal or just do a resort stay.

Iger did say that while Chapek was CEO. Now he is in he is doing the same thing. Getting much cheaper to go to Universal! As DVC maybe better to stay and enjoy resorts and go to Universal?
