Crocs Launch a New Ka-Chow Inspired Clog

If you are a Crocs fan, you may have heard of this new launch from a fan-favorite Pixar film. However, within its first release, it sold out immediately! Were you able to “git-r-done” and score a pair?

Back in May 2019, the Croc Company announced on their Twitter page that due to popular demand for the Disney Pixar “Cars” character Lightning McQueen for kids’ Crocs, they had received the message loud and clear that Croc adults too wanted the shoes inspired by the Pixar film to become available in their size.  An enthused fan began a petition that brought in more than 33,000 signatures.

Crocs debuted the Lightning McQueen adult croc and, within hours, sold out. Flash forward to the present day – from time to time, Crocs will tease on their Social Media page that the fan-favorite would restock, and every time, the supply and demand held.

Just how popular and in demand are these Crocs? It originally retailed for $50 on crocs.com and Amazon. Today, they go for hundreds of dollars on resale sites.

Mater Crocs

On October 16^th, Croc’s Instagram page posted a picture of Mater Crocs accompanied by the following tagline: Did someone call Towing & Salvage? Mater Crocs is coming tomorrow. BEEP! BEEP! Within minutes, the comment section exploded that they could not wait for the next day’s drop.

The Tow Mater Crocs are a classic brown clog with playful details that genuinely encompass the animated character in more ways than one! The oversized boxy eyes, buck teeth, exposed engine, and tow hook appear on the clog strap.

I mean, it is Mater in the form of a Croc! The day continued as the Croc company posted a reel with Mater taking off a cover that revealed Lightning McQueen under it. This was a teaser for what was yet to come. Crocs knows what it is doing!

Sold Out Within Minutes

As the much-anticipated release of the Mater and Lightening Crocs gained momentum, on October 17^th, it was announced that the Crocs would be sold at 1:00 p.m. Unfortunately, by 1:00 p.m., the Crocs sold out.  Many angry fans were in uproar that the Crocs released the drop ten minutes beforehand

One fan exclaimed, “Why did you have a countdown if you were going to release them early???”

Shortly after, Crocs made the announcement that the Lightning Crocs had restocked, and not shocking, sold out within minutes. The adult Mater Crocs sold for $59.99. Toddler sizes are $44.99 and kid’s $49.99.  Kids Lighting McQueen Crocs are also still available for $54.99.

We hope these adorable Crocs will be restocked again very soon. I recommend stalking the website and following Crocs on their Instagram page. They are pretty quick and sneaky with posting re-drops of popular items.
