The Orlando International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the United States. With Disney World, Universal Orlando, and dozens of other area attractions, many travelers make their way through MCO.

Fall break is still in full swing, and many people will be arriving or departing from the airport in the coming days. Unfortunately, many may find out their flights have been cancelled.

Spirit Airlines is cancelling dozens of flights at the Orlando Airport today, October 20. As of 7:30 am this morning, October 20, at least 45 flights did not take off in the air.

The airline says the cancellations are necessary as inspections need to take place on the aircraft. 25 planes are included in the inspections.

Unfortunately, this issue is not just a “today issue.” The airline also side it will take several days as they complete inspections and return to normal operations.

While there is no end day in sight, we are hopeful everything is back to normal by the end of the weekend. Many schools resume from fall break next week, so families will need to make it back home by then.

The inspections will take several days, according to the airline.
