It can be really frustrating searching for dining reservations for popular Disney World websites. You may be checking and refreshing constantly for weeks hoping to grab one. Disney is reportedly about to roll out some new features that may help with that!
Dining Reservations
Getting your Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) all set up for your trip is one of the most fun parts of planning a Disney vacation! I have spent many hours looking through menus for each restaurant I am interested in and figuring out how much it would cost my family to eat there.
With the park closure of 2020, Disney changed the timeline for reserving restaurants from 180 days to 60 days. It’s one of the changes we are actually fond of.
60 days is a lot closer to your trip, and you will have a better idea of where you may want to eat. It is also beneficial if you are not able to book your Disney trip 6 months out because you haven’t missed your opportunity to book those hard-to-get reservations.
Unfortunately, even with the best plan in place (or maybe you are planning a last minute trip), there are times you may not get the reservation you hoped for.
Rumored New Features
Please note this is the third time I have mentioned that these rumors are not confirmed! But, Disney is reportedly planning to announce a few changes to the dining reservation system.
First, the new update would allow Guests to receive a notification when a fully-booked restaurant has availability. Apparently, Disney will send a push notification when a reservation becomes available. Then, it’s your responsibility to book it.
Second, it would also give Guests the ability to search a date range for reservations. Instead of having to search each day for several time slots, this new feature would be much more user-friendly.
These updates are reportedly expected to roll out later in 2023 and into 2024. We will keep you updated on if these rumors are true! There are many changes coming up in early 2024 like the return of all-day park hopping, the return of the Disney Dining Plan, and no more park passes for date-based tickets.
Would you like these new features to be available? Let us know in the comments below, and share this post with a friend. And, please, no discussion of third-party dining reservation finders!
