What You Need to Know to Buy New Disney Lorcana Cards

This is it! Since its release, Disney Lorcana trading card game has been wildly popular! So much so that it sold out almost immediately online and at the World of Disney. However, soon these cards are coming to local stores and you need to know when to grab your sets quickly!

There’s a New Game in Town

Disney joined forces Ravensburger to create a family-friendly collectible trading card game, Disney Lorcana. It is a strategy-based game where players create their own decks and compete against each other in a race to use a team of glimmers to collect pieces of lost “lore” from the realm of Lorcana.

Like other card games, it has appeal from both a gameplay and a collecting standpoint. Special releases and early releases made the game available to players a little early, which increased demand wildly when it officially launched on September 1, 2023.

Collecting Frenzy

On its initial release, disappointed Lorcana fans faced sellouts, supply issues, and crazy high resale values online.

Then, when cards were available on shopDisney, gift sets and starter packs sold out within minutes! If you were in the parks trying to grab some cards, it was no different. Long lines stretched outside the World of Disney store in Disney Springs with guests hoping to grab some cards.

Good News

Lorcana recognized the supply issues along with the crazy markup prices online sellers were charging. To combat both of these, they announced that booster sets will be restocked. And to make it even better for buyers, there will be no difference in the restocked sets and the original releases. Hopefully, this will stop the crazy secondary market prices.

But that’s not all, in addition to shopDisney and World of Disney, Lorcana announced that card sets will be released in local game shops across North America next week! Be sure to frequent your store so you can grab your set as soon as they release.
