Disney theme parks are so magical. What could make them even more magical than flying to your destination aboard a Disney-themed airplane? Here are all the details for flying on one of the happiest planes on Earth!
Disney Airplanes
Every now and then, Disney partners with an airline to make air travel a little more magical. And what fun it would be to fly on a Disney-themed aircraft instead of a regular plane.
There are already several Disney-themed airplanes traversing the skies. For example, Southwest Airlines added a little magic to its fleet when Walt Disney World celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Disneyland has also inspired several specially-themed planes. One is an Alaska Airlines special-edition plane named, “Friendship and Beyond at Disneyland Resort.” It is a Toy Story-themed plane reminiscent of Pixar Pier!
Another is an aircraft called “Star Wars Transport to the Disneyland Resort.” It is a celebration of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. And now another one will take to the sky!
Mickey’s Toontown Express
Now, Alaska Airlines has another Disneyland plane for passengers to enjoy. The aircraft is called “Mickey’s Toontown Express,” and it is based on the newly reimagined Toontown in Disneyland Resort.
Mickey’s Toontown Express is Boeing 737-800. It is actually Alaska Airlines’ eighth livery in collaboration with Disneyland Resort! But, this one is a little bit extra special since it features Mickey Mouse, don’t you think?
In addition to Mickey, you will notice plenty of other characters adorning the plane including Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Daisy Duck, and Donald Duck. For even more fun, you can spot Chip on the tail!
The plane made its inaugural flight on November 1, 2023. The destination was none other than “The Happiest Place on Earth” at Disneyland Resort!
Passengers enjoyed a meet and greet with Mickey and Minnie Mouse prior to take-off. They also received some special treats onboard!
Future passengers should be able to enjoy the plane for several years to come! Mickey’s Toontown Express is set to fly on routes across Alaska Airlines’ network.
Have you ever gotten to fly on a plane like this one? Would you enjoy it? Let us know in the comments. And, feel free to pass this story along to Disney fans in your life so they can keep an eye on the sky!
