Walt Disney World is decked with holiday tinsel and decorations. Guests prepare for a magical holiday celebration this year with both Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom and a brand new event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Jollywood Nites.

Last night, Magic Kingdom hosted the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party of the season. We shared BIG changes for characters, a rare character meet and greet, and our first glimpse of the FREE souvenir for all party guests.

If you have not already purchased your party tickets, act quickly. The demand appears very high for holiday parties this year. Many dates are starting to sell out, and ALL dates for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party sold out this year.

This is truly the most magical time of the year to visit Magic Kingdom. With this, we did notice a few interesting changes last night. Guests are willing to pay for special ticketed holiday events for great character interactions and Disney entertainment. Get a full listing for the entertainment schedule HERE.

Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade is roughly 25 minutes long and will run twice each evening the event takes place at 8:30 and 11:00 pm. While many aspects of this parade are similar to years past, we noticed a few changes.

First, Wreck-It Ralph is no longer part of this parade. Previously he was featured on the gingerbread house. He is now replaced by Clarice. Even the most devoted Disney fans may be left wondering who Clarice is. Clarice is the love interest of both Chip ‘n Dale. She is full of energy and brings brand new energy to the parade this year.

Clarice is now featured in the Christmas Parade.

Vanellope Von Schweetz still races ahead of this gingerbread house. This feels a bit odd to have Vanellope ahead of Clarice, but she is so cute we couldn’t imagine the parade without her.

Along with this change, we also see our favorite Dynamic Duo, Chip ‘n Dale dancing ahead of this gingerbread house wearing chef hats and jackets. They along with fellow dancers carry oversized lollipops as they dance to the beat.

This is a fun change, that we were not expecting for the parade this year.

What do you think of this change? Do you wish more characters were switched for the parade this year? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with your Disney pals.
