The gingerbread display is NEW at Disney’s Yacht Club this year. Let’s take an up close look at it, along with the other displays that Disney currently has up already this year.
Yacht Club Displays
New for 2023 is a beautiful gingerbread lighthouse, just like the one outside the Yacht Club Resort! Disney bakery Cast Members erected the giant display this past weekend, and we got to take a look at it!
“This holiday season, the Yacht Club has a new addition – The Gingerbread Lighthouse! Chef Michael and the Bakery Team have created a quarter scale replica of our very own lighthouse on Crescent Lake. Enjoy our newest tradition and Happy Holidays!”
Don’t be alarmed! The little train village is still up! This has become one of my (Monica) favorite little displays Disney puts up for the holidays.
The Yacht Club tree is also up as well. This resort must make it towards the top of your list if you plan to resort hop and check out all the displays!
Duck Tales Display at Beach Club
Right next door at Disney’s Beach Club is the Duck Tales gingerbread carousel. Every year the theme changes, and this year’s display celebrates the classic show.
The Yacht and Beach Bakery team has displayed various creations for the holidays for 23 years and counting! The massive candy construction consists of:
- 432 lbs of honey
- 120 lbs of flour
- 100 lbs of eggs
- 25 lbs of spices
- 10 lbs of simple syrup
- 200 lbs of icing
- 10 qts of egg whites
- 100 lbs of confectioner’s sugar
- 50 lbs of dark chocolate
- 20 lbs of grand Marrier
- Lots of enthusiasm, energy, and talent!
There are also 23 hidden gold Mickey’s. If you stop by make sure to look for all of them! And, grab some goodies at the nearby counter.
Grand Floridian Display
The gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian is the grandest of all the displays at Disney World. Every year, the Bakery Team spends months preparing and constructing the display.
It contains over 1,000 lbs of honey, 140 pints of egg whites, 600 lbs of powdered sugar, 700 lbs of chocolate, 800 lbs of flour, tons of creativity, and Disney Magic and Pixie Dust!
There are also treats available to purchase including cake pops, gingerbread shingles, muffins, cookies, and more. An ornament kit is also available to purchase. Lines are especially long for treats, so you may want to try to visit first thing or at the end of the evening.
Contemporary Display
Disney’s Contemporary Resort has a smaller display than the Grand Floridian, but it is still worthy of a visit! The gingerbread castle features a 100 logo on it to commemorate the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company. There are also statues of Mickey and Minnie on either side.
This is the 12th year of the display and it is inspired by Mary Blair, as are many of the other aspects of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. There are 12 Hidden Mickeys and it contains over 4,000 castle gingerbread bricks made by 40 bakery cast! Wow.
You can find plenty of treats here as well like cookies, cupcakes, and fudge bars. You can even buy a kit to paint your own castle cookie!
