The new Christmas event hosted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios had mixed reviews for the first party. And now, Disney is changing things up, but is it enough to make guests happy?
Jollywood Nights
If you love trying new things at Disney World, then you probably already purchased a ticket for Disney’s new holiday event, Jollywood Nights. Jollywood Nights is a special event happening on select nights this holiday season.
There will be lower wait times for attractions, exclusive food, and more. Prices range from $159 to $179 per person, with Annual Passholder and DVC discounts available.
In addition, guests will be thrilled at the extra entertainment. Hear music throughout the park as a DJ spins holiday tunes, and stroll around Echo Lake to meet characters like Powerline Max, Phineas and Ferb, and more. Mickey and Minnie and friends will be there too!
There will be a special viewing of Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!, a Nightmare Before Christmas sing-along event, and even a Broadway style show featuring Miss Piggy and Kermit.

Disappointed Guests
These party tickets are not inexpensive and guests expect to get their money’s worth. However, many people there felt like things were disorganized and there wasn’t enough to do to keep lines to a minimum.
In addition, on the first party night, when the waitlist opened on the My Disney Experience for Hollywood Brown Derby, there was a glitch in the system. Fellow writer, Monica, signed up at 8:15pm sharp and realized that everyone received a return time of 10-15 minutes.
This made for chaos outside the restaurant and left guests wondering how long it would take to actually be called. Once inside, the restaurant features special dishes and a piano playing holiday tunes.

Change Coming
Going forward, Disney will fill the limited capacity Hollywood Brown Derby differently. Tables will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning at 8:30pm (which is the time the party officially begins).
Going forward, guests will fill the restaurant on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning at 8:30pm.
After the restaurant reaches capacity, guests can check availability with a mobile walk-up list throughout the Jollywood Night event.
Do you think this will help with guest frustration? Or does Disney do more to make it worth the cost? Please let us know in the comments and share this post with a Disney holiday loving friend.

My husband, daughter, and I attended last Saturday on opening night. It was a disaster. The overall issue surrounded the lack of communication on what to expect so you could figure out how to navigate the evening. When the rain started we were done. And decided in the 25 years of being a Disney fanatic-- DVC member since 1998 and annual passholder, this was the first time we felt ripped off for what we paid. Someone should be fired for the event logistics.

This was not the only issue people were complaining about the brown derby they were complaining about it in general as a whole some of my favorite youtubers who mainly just cover disney said they would maybe attend next year if they had major improvements. Def makes me think twice about spending the money from what i see in most videos not worth it..
