As we approach the 10th anniversary of Frozen, Disney opens World of Frozen in Hong Kong and teases that Frozen 4 is in the works! See what CEO Bob Iger has to say about the project.
Frozen Franchise
Frozen will mark its 10th anniversary in just a few days. Can you believe that? It truly seems like it was just yesterday that we were introduced to our friends Olaf, Sven, Anna and Elsa.
The movie franchise remains pretty popular with young children and adults. After all, who doesn’t want to belt out “Let It Go” after watching Frozen? The characters, songs and adventures of Anna and Elsa are all parts of the reasons fans are drawn to this story about two sisters.
The first film took the world by storm and many thought the second was even better than the original. However, as it is with sequel announcements, many fans who loved what has already transpired in the worlds of their favorite characters are skeptical.
Frozen 3
Will Disney be able to create a sequel that lives up to the first two? Disney does have plans to release a third installment!
During the First Quarter Earnings Call earlier this year, Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, announced 3 huge sequels to beloved films. Iger explained that this move is an example of how the company is “leaning into our unrivaled brand franchise.”
All of the original actors will return, and the film has an anticipated 2025 release.
Frozen 4
Even though the third film is still in the works, Disney is already confident in continuing the franchise. In an interview with Good Morning America today, Iger shared all about World of Frozen, which opens in a few days at Hong Kong Disneyland.
He also shared Frozen 4 might be in the works, which is basically the same as “it’s definitely happening.” If the CEO is comfortable enough sharing that information with the public, it’s a go!
“I’ll give you a little surprise, Michael. Frozen 3 is in the works and there might be a Frozen 4 in the works. I don’t have much to say about those films right now.”
