After the first night being a complete failure, Jollywood Nights has new characters, wristband locations, and more for the second evening. See all the changes here. Would this be enough for you to attend?
Jollywood Nights
Jollywood Night is a new holiday event for 2023. The overall aesthetic is old Hollywood glitzy glam. There’s a live swing band outside the Hollywood Tower Hotel, the Brown Derby turns into a jazzy speak-easy, and you can watch a variety-style live stage show.
Not only will you find exclusive entertainment, but there are also characters, shorter wait times for attractions, and themed snacks and beverages. In theory, it sounds like a great evening.
Unfortunately, the first night was a complete failure. In my review, I mentioned the chaos of only ONE wristband distribution location inside the park. There’s also the glitch on MDE that caused everyone who waitlisted a table at Brown Derby to be given a return time of 10 minutes.
And let’s not forget the overall lack of unique characters. Phineas and Ferb are quite rare, but most of the characters are already in the park during the day.

Changes
Because the overwhelming majority of feedback for the first night was negative, Disney is implementing several changes.
The first came earlier this week when they announced those hoping to eat will follow a different procedure. Tables will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning at 8:30pm (which is the time the party officially begins).
Second, there are also multiple wristband distribution locations inside the park now. Guests can head to Muppet*Vision 3D or Star Wars Launch Bay as early as 4:30 pm to receive credentials. Be sure to listen for the in-park announcement around this time.
Disney also decided to include more meet and greet opportunities in the park. For this second event, Guests will be able to meet Duffy in his Christmas outfit and possible others. This should help spread crowds out a bit. Here are the locations:
- Santa Duffy: Mickey Short Film Theater
- Santa Stitch: Center Stage by Chinese Theater
- Snow White/Dopey switches off with Mary Poppins/Penguin Water: Grand Avenue
- Jiminy Cricket switches off with Pinocchio: Center Stage by Chinese Theater
Finally, Cast Members share there are more food and beverage staff to help alleviate lines for food and drinks.
Do you think these changes are enough to justify the cost now? Would/will you attend Jollywood now that Disney is trying to make things right? Let us know in the comments below, and share this post with a friend.
