Disney World Already “Sold Out” for the Holiday Season

If you are visiting Disney World during the holiday season, you may be out of luck. Select dates and parks are already “sold out” for December.

Park Passes

Since the phased reopening of the theme parks, park reservations have been required for all theme parks here in the United States. In addition to a theme park ticket, a reservation is also required to gain entry.

Although Disney makes more park passes available at times, it’s a good idea to secure them as soon as you book your vacation. This is especially important during busier times of the year, as we will see below.

Disney World will no longer require park passes for date-based tickets beginning in 2024. You can read that story HERE. Unfortunately, Annual Passholders and Guests who do not have date-based tickets (like service members using the Salute discount) will still need to make reservations.

Magic Kingdom

At the time of writing, Magic Kingdom is already booking up for some very important dates in December. First, Christmas Day (December 25) is unavailable for people who have regular theme park tickets or tickets connected to a Disney World resort.

Fortunately, Incredi-Pass holders do still have park passes available for this day. As a reminder, all other pass types are blocked out on this day. BUT, Magic Kingdom park passes for all passholder types are gone for December 18 and 19.

In addition, New Year’s Eve is “sold out” for theme park tickets AND Resort Hotel guests. If you are planning to visit Magic Kingdom on any of these days, you will need to keep checking to see if any more open up.

EPCOT

So far, only one date at Epcot is “sold out” and that’s also New Year’s Eve. Currently, people with theme park tickets or tickets connected to a Disney World Resort cannot make a park pass for Epcot.

Along with Magic Kingdom, Epcot park passes are still available for Incredi-Pass passholders on December 31. This is your warning to get any park passes made ASAP!
