A new Universal park is coming to Texas! Today we have some new details on the name and what we can expect to see!
New Park
Going to Universal Studios makes you feel like you’re watching your favorite TV shows and movies. Only there are extra thrills, turns, and drops. Not only that, but guests face villains and help save the earth!
The company announced earlier this year it is expanding its theme parks. The new park will reside in Frisco (part of North Texas) with the proposed location east of the Dallas North Tollway and north of Panther Creek Parkway.
The demographic is a bit different for this park. This new park will be designed for younger children.
Name
What’s in a name? A lot, if you ask us! Universal is calling this new park Universal Kids Resort. They weren’t kidding when they said this park will be designed with younger children in mind!
I (Monica) this will be a wonderful contrast to the thrill rides Universal is known for in Florida and California. Plus, it will offer something more in the midwest than the other two parks which are in polar opposite areas of the country.
The name is Universal Kids Resort.
What To Expect
Universal shared some concept art for this new park, which is different from the original. First, the entrance will feature a 300-room themed hotel. To the left will be two areas which are rumored to be Gabby’s Playhouse and Trolls.
Then, to the left will be a large Spongebob area (also rumored) right next to the middle of the park: Minions (you guessed it: also rumored). The back will likely focus on Shrek, Puss in Boots, and Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.
Universal Kids Resort will feature family-friendly attractions, interactive and playful shows, unique merchandise, fun food and beverage venues, and character meet and greets.
