Every great now and then, Florida’s typically warm temperatures plummet, and a few days of cold weather creep in. Even when lows don’t sip below the 40s, the air can feel downright frigid thanks to the high levels of humidity.

Florida has already seen one pretty big cold front this winter as November came to a close. And now another is on the way. Get your layers ready if you are visiting!

Fortunately, most Walt Disney World operations continue as planned come rain or come shine regardless of how cold it gets. However, there are a few parks that simply cannot maintain operation during cold snaps.

These are Walt Disney World’s Water parks. Typhoon Lagoon is closed right now for maintenance anyway, so it will be unaffected. However, Blizzard Beach, which re-opened its doors to Guests recently, will be another story.

For those who are unfamiliar with it, Blizzard Beach is a charming water park in Walt Disney World that was recently re-themed to incorporate Frozen Sadly, Blizzard Beach will close again this week due to the cold weather, just as it did with the cold snap that crept in earlier this season.

Blizzard Beach is expected to be closed on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, and Thursday, December 7, 2023. Right now, it looks as if Disney anticipates the park will resume operation on Friday, December 8, 2023. So, if you plan to visit this week, look to head there on the weekend.

Blizzard Beach will be closed December 6-7 for cold weather.

Does this closure impact your plans? Let us know in the comments. And, be sure to pass the word along to those you know who are visiting the parks this week.
