More details have been released about what the new DVC cabins at Fort Wilderness will be like. These new refreshed cabins will bring a new feel to The Fort.
DVC Comes to The Fort
Back in April, Disney Vacation Club announced that they would be expanding! This new resort, The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, will offer 350 cabins that will “bring refreshed cabin hideaways.”
With this announcement came proposals for walking trail enhancement, pool and expanded dining experiences at both Trail’s End Restaurant and Crockett’s Tavern. Check out the announcement HERE.
These cabins will take the place of the existing cabin that are at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground (also known to many as The Fort). You can see a review of the current cabins HERE.
This DVC resort will be the 17th Disney Vacation Club Resort and is projected to open in Summer 2024. The Fort offers a unique way to experience Walt Disney World Resort. Be sure to check out the complete guide to The Fort HERE.
First Look
Earlier this month at the DVC Annual Condo Dues Association Meeting a first look was offered at these new cabins. The above picture is what the cabins currently look like. This new refreshed look will definitely make DVC Members feel at home. It was shared that these cabins will still offer bunk beds, which is one unique offering that people love about these accommodations.
Even though these cabins are switching over to DVC, you can still stay here even if you are not a DVC Member. Check out our guide to renting DVC points HERE. You will also be able to book these cabins directly through Disney.
More Details Announced
These private one-bedroom cabins will offer all the comforts of home. Each cabin will sleep six and some will even be dog friendly!
Guests will find a sconce-flanked front door that enters into a living area that is spacious and offers a dining nook! The kitchen includes a refrigerator, dishwasher, convection/microwave oven and 2 countertop burners.
The bathroom will now be off the kitchen and a vanity area will be outside the bathroom! There will also be an additional vanity inside. This will make getting ready a whole lot easier!
DVC private one-bedroom cabins will offer sleeping for six and a whole new refreshed look!
Opposite the kitchen is a seating area that converts to a sleeping area. This area has a 65-inch TV and a sofa. This queen-size Inova bed will fold down from the wall adding the additional sleep space for all of the Guests. There is a separate bedroom that has a queen-size bed along with twin-size bunk beds. In the bedroom is also a 55-inch TV, closet and a nightstand.
You might think that these new additions will be plenty, but there will also be floor-to-ceiling windows and a personal patio deck. A charcoal grill will still be available at each cabin.
The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are not currently on sale, but you can request more information HERE.

Not sure how I feel about this refurb. I enjoy the rustic cabin look. The images presented are nice but lose the cabin appeal. Especially the exterior, don't like it. And the Murphy bed, does the couch need to be moved to pull down the bed every night? Not sure I like that idea. How about adding more six seater golf carts to the resort, that would be nice. Was not happy with change to Trails End restaurant, not happy at all!

We are looking forward to staying at the new Fort Wilderness cabins and especially looking forward to the sorely needed upgrades to Trails End and Crockett's Tavern. The recent makeover at Trails End really messed up one of the best value and enjoyable dining experiences in all of WDW. And Crockett's Tavern needs to quit being so darn politically correct and return the portrait of Fess Parker as Davy Crockett, holding his beloved rifle, Betsy. Disney greatly disrespected the legacy of Davy Crockett, Fess Parker and Anerican History by hiding any image of Davy Crockett because he carried a rifle. Davy Crockett was an America Fronteersman for crying out loud. They carried guns!
