Disney’s Beach Club Resort is a guest favorite for so many reasons. It has one of the best locations in all of Disney World and one of the best pools! Disney recently completed some refurbishment work in the rooms and around the resort, and we love the results!
Beach Club Resort
Disney’s Beach Club is a deluxe resort located just steps from Epcot. The resort is designed after New England’s charming beaches. It is more casual than its stuffier sister right next door, Disney’s Yacht Club. Bother are within walking distance to EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Boardwalk Resort.
Disney’s Beach Club is home to Stormalong Bay, one of the best feature pools at Disney World! Enjoy a pirate shipwreck, a lazy river, sand bottom pool, and so much more. You can read more about why I think it’s the best pool HERE.
Refurbishment News
The resort is broken up into two sections: the resort and the villas. The villas are the Disney Vacation Club side of the resort. Members can use their points to stay here, and anyone else can rent points or pay cash to stay in these rooms. Be sure to check out the deluxe studio in this review and the 2-bedroom villas in this review. Just be aware that these rooms have been refurbished since these posts were originally written.
Refurbishment work on the room accommodations began in early 2023. Originally expected to be complete in the spring, that actually got pushed back to late fall, although most of the work has already been completed.
Disney has also been busy refurbishing the main areas of the resort like the lobby and solarium. After a recent visit, I have a full report of what’s changed and how things look now. Let’s take a look!
Lobby and Other Main Areas
With the refurbishment, Disney completed a lot of work on the main areas of the resort. Starting in the lobby, Disney replaced the rugs, tables, floral arrangements, and seating options. Even the Bell Services/Check-in area is different! I love the new wallpaper and art. It’s very calming and beach-like.
Overall, the soft pastel colors complement one another well in this area. It is bright and inviting! New cream paint and blue patterned carpet give the rest of the hallways and common spaces a fresh look.
The Solarium also received some attention. Previously, this area had a lot of reds and greens and some mismatched furniture (and not in a good way). But now Disney replaced that with updated furniture and color palettes. Like the rest of the resort, they went with blues and corals in this space as well.
The biggest change is the flooring. Disney ripped up the older darker flooring and put new flooring with a lighter finish. Lighter flooring does a better job of hiding scratches and dents, so this was a very wise choice on Disney’s part.
DVC Deluxe Studio
The biggest change in the deluxe studio is that Disney installed the pull-down Murphy bed that we have seen in all the recent resort refurbishments. Previously, there was a pull-out couch bed. This also means the artwork has been updated as well, and it’s adorable!
Disney also updated the carpet (there’s carpet, not hardwood!), curtains, dresser/table furniture, and chairs. Again, they stuck with blues and corals to ensure a cohesive feel throughout the resort. It appears the lampshades and nightstand are the same.
With regard to the kitchenette, the only change I noticed is the cabinet front. But that is a very small change, and overall, this area looks the same as it did before the refurbishment.
The bathroom and vanity area received some small tweaks like a fresh coat of paint and a new shower curtain. However, the flooring, tub tile, and vanity are all the same as before.
I did not stay in a “regular” cash room at Beach Club, so I do not have any first-hand knowledge of the updates there. But, I do know that those rooms were also refurbished this year.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I am very impressed with the updates at Beach Club. Perhaps Disney is listening to Guest complaints with regard to past resort refurbishments. Many of the latest refurbishments make the rooms feel sterile and plain with no theming. I have specifically noted this at Port Orleans – French Quarter and Copper Creek at Wilderness Lodge.
In particular, I like that Disney kept the carpet. I know in the past I have said that I prefer hardwood flooring as it’s easier to clean. But, the carpet in Beach Club’s studios are beautiful and make the room feel cozy. Now I am torn in what I prefer!
Disney also kept true to the beach theming from the main areas to the rooms. Oftentimes with these new refurbishments, all traces of resort theming stop at the door. The blue and coral color palette is beautiful, and these rooms still feel like Beach Club.
They kept the same layout and special touches of the main lobby and rooms and just updated the pieces, which I think strikes the perfect balance for a resort-wide refurbishment. Disney fans love our nostalgia. It’s just really nice to keep that nostalgia while also keeping a fresh, updated look.
