Are you hoping to enjoy Disney’s newest attractions during your next visit? Don’t miss out on the new update for Walt Disney World virtual queues.
Park Reservation Change
As 2023 is beginning to wind down, Disney is planning ahead for 2024. This New Year will bring many positive changes for Disney Parks. In particular for Walt Disney World starting in January 2024.
Starting January 9, 2024, Park Hopping time limits are removed, the Dining Plan returns, and date-based tickets no longer require a Park Pass Reservation. Annual Passholders also received a new update for “Good to Go” days. Be sure to check this out HERE.
This leads to a question on how this will affect the Virtual Queue for attractions such as TRON Lightcyble Power Run at Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT.
New Virtual Queue Update
Starting on January 9, 2024, guests with a valid date-based ticket will no longer need a Park Reservation which also means that they will not be limited to which Virtual Queue that they may join.
At 7:00 am, date-based ticketed guests may choose to join either Virtual Queue at Walt Disney World, but may only choose to join one at 7:00 am. Guests do not need to be inside a Walt Disney World theme park to join the 7:00 am Virtual Queue.
However, the 1:00 pm Virtual Queue does require that a guest must scan into the select theme park to join the Virtual Queue (this is the same procedure as now).
Guests without a date-based ticket such as Annual Passholders, student groups, and Disney Military Salute Ticket will still require a Park Reservation to join a Virtual Queue at 7:00 am.
Starting on January 9th, date-based ticketed guests may choose to join either Virtual Queue at Walt Disney World at 7:00 am.
What do you think of this change? Do you think this will allow more spontaneity during your trip to Walt Disney World? Do you think this may lead to Virtual Queues filling up even faster? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with your Disney pals.
