The Voyage of the Little Mermaid Live Show is located in Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. During this show, you can sing along with colorful puppets, live performers, and special effects as they retell the story of Ariel.

The laser and water effects give viewers the feeling of exploring “under the sea.” It debuted in 1992 – just a few years after the park opened!

It is just one of a handful of shows that call Hollywood Studios home. You can find Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage down Sunset Boulevard. Both Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and The Frozen Sing-along around Echo Lake.

Reopening?

Various online reports indicate we may be closer than ever to the return of Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Not only that, but we may see a much-needed update of the show.

The show remains largely unchanged since it debuted in 1992. With the live-action version of the movie released and live-action character meet and greet, it may be on Disney’s radar to get the show up to speed.

Whether it mirrors the live-action movie remains to be seen. It would certainly ensure the live-action film becomes a mainstay in Hollywood Studios.

Either way, the reopening of this show would help ease the crowds at a very popular park.

Do you hope Voyage of the Little Mermaid reopens? Or, do you think Disney should do something else with the building? Would you like to see a live-action version or would you prefer it remain as the cartoon version? Let us know in the comments below.
