Is Elon Musk Punishing The Walt Disney Company Now?

The Walt Disney Company can add Elon Musk as another battle to be fought. After pulling its ads from X, Elon Musk appears to be retaliating.

The Walt Disney Company, along with several other companies, paused ad spending on X earlier this month.

The decision to cancel ad spending all stems from Musk’s agreement with a post about Jewish people who are facing antisemitism amid the Israel-Hamas war. The theory refers to the idea that Jewish people are pushing the “exact kind of dialectical hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them” and supporting the immigration of “hordes of minorities.”

“You have said the actual truth.” Musk replied. The conspiracy theory claims that nonwhite immigrants (like Jews) want to replace the white race.

When asked about the situation, Iger said he greatly respected Elon Musk. However, the company just felt that the association with that position and Elon Musk and X was not necessarily a positive one. So, they decided to pull advertising.

The company not only paused all ads but general postings on X from November 17 to November 27. On November 28, they began posting again.

We just learned that Tesla vehicles removed Disney’s platform streaming service, Disney+ from its vehicles. While details about the situation are vague, sources told Elecktrek that Musk pulled the app from Tesla vehicles. Tesla then later clarified to Disney it was only pulling the Disney+ app from vehicles that had never used it before.

While there may be no connection between Disney pulling its ad from X in November and Tesla pulling Disney+, the timing is suspicious. In an interview with CNBC at the end of November, Musk called out Disney for pulling ads. He even used an explicative towards Bob Iger.
