Many people love to ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster which launches guests in a “stretch limo” from 0 to 60 in a matter of seconds. This attraction is an ultimate thrill ride, but it is no secret that it has not been very reliable over the past years.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster often has temporary downtimes which can cause wait times to soar for guests choosing to save their place in line. Many times this attraction fails to open at park opening, but usually opens later in the day.

Last December 2022, we shared that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster would begin a rather lengthy refurbishment.

Many hoped that this extended refurbishment would help correct the ongoing ride malfunctions. Unfortunately, this was not the case. We did see a few notable changes for the ride when it reopened. Check these out HERE.

Now a brand new refurbishment is planned for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. If you are hoping to climb aboard this super stretch limo before its closure, then you better plan quickly.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is now set to close for refurbishment on January 8, 2024. It appears that January is “Refurbishment Month” at the Disney Parks. Now Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is joining this growing list.

Unfortunately, a reopening date is not yet set. Many times attractions are only closed briefly. At this time, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster does not offer operating times through February 2024. This is when the Walt Disney World calendar ends currently.

This attraction is a favorite so this is quite disappointing. Disney’s Hollywood Studios offers fewer attractions than parks such as Magic Kingdom. When an attraction is closed for an extended time, this causes a ripple of higher wait times throughout the park.

Update: Walt Disney World just shared that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is set to reopen the summer of 2024.

What do you think of this refurbishment? Do you think that this will hopefully address ride reliability? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with your Disney pals.
