Disney is not immune to the real world, unfortunately. While it may be a place of fantasy and make-believe, the outside world can still present threats. Police responded to an active shooter threat. Here are the details.

On Thursday December 21, reports came in regarding an active shooter threat. The call reportedly came from the Disneyland Hotel, specifically the Fantasy tower.

In case you did not know, the Disneyland Hotel has four towers: Adventure, Frontier, Fantasy, and the new DVC tower that just opened. They are all situated around the main feature pool of the hotel.

The Fantasy tower is the tower with the main lobby, bell services, gift shop, and more.

Dozens of Anaheim police officers arrived on the scene at approximately 6:10 pm. They responded well with guns drawn and evacuated the Fantasy Tower. Police then completed a thorough search of the area.

Thankfully, they found no threat whatsoever! No one was injured, and reports suggest no gunshots were even heard. However, they maintained an increased police presence throughout the evening.

We are so glad to hear there was no threat to Disney Guests.

Reminder About Disney Rules

There are few places in this world that most people always feel safe, and Disney has always been one of them. Disney security and local law enforcement always do an excellent job detecting and detaining individuals that carry guns. Thankfully this prevents the unthinkable.

Per Disney policy, Guests are not permitted to bring weapons to any Disney property. These include firearms, ammunition, knives, and other weapons of any kind. Objects or toys that look like firearms and weapons are also prohibited.

We are glad to hear this situation ended well. Please share your thoughts with us in the comments below. And, feel free to pass this post along to someone you know.
