Genie+ is a paid feature that offers convenience and flexibility to help you save time in line. Here is the shortened version: for $15+ per person per day at Disney World and $20+ per person per day at Disneyland, choose the next available time to arrive at a variety of attractions and experiences using the Lightning Lane entrance.

Guests see tons of new additions and features being added to the app depending on demand and changes within the parks. Sometimes those changes are permanent ones and sometimes they are only temporary ones.

Guests visiting Walt Disney World and Disneyland are going to see a ton of refurbishments happening in the next several weeks. January is kind of Disney’s “refurbishment month”. We are already seeing tons of refurbishments being scheduled, including ones for Frozen Ever After, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Kali River Rapids at Walt Disney World.

If you are heading to Disneyland, refurbishments are also scheduled for Haunted Mansion and Blue Bayou. Don’t forget that Splash Mountain is also undergoing refurbishment on both coasts as it is being reimagined into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Temporary Addition

Beginning January 22nd, guests will notice that Pirates of the Caribbean will be added to Genie+ at Disneyland Park. Since Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain are already undergoing refurbishment, not many attractions will be open to guests in New Orleans Square, except Pirates of the Caribbean.

Pirates of the Caribbean will be temporarily added to Genie+ at Disneyland beginning January 22, 2024.

Other refurbishments are also happening for the Mark Twain Riverboat and Astro Orbitor during this time. There has been no indication of how long this change will last, but Disney has said this is a temporary change.
