Positive Changes for Chef Mickey’s at Disney World

Positive Changes for Chef Mickey’s at Disney World

Chef Mickey’s is consistently ranked as one of the worst restaurants at Disney World. But, we are hopeful Disney is trying to turn that around with these positive changes!

One of the most popular restaurants used to be Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. It features a buffet, fun characters, and a unique view of the Monorail.

Unfortunately, for many Chef Mickey’s continues to fall in the rankings. In the last year, Disney has moved this character meal from family-style back to buffet AND moved Mickey to his own PhotoPass spot.

With that, the quality of food has gone down and many people do not like waiting in a line to meet Mickey at the end of the meal.

A Step in the Right Direction?

Disney recently switched some menu items around. They added some new ones, removed ones that weren’t popular anymore, and slight changed a few. We hope this is a step in the right direction and that these positive changes will help Chef Mickey’s popularity once again.

The biggest change is the addition of croissant beignets! These join the ranks of French toast and seasonal pancakes on the breakfast menu. This sounds so tasty, and you won’t have to travel all the way to Port Orleans – French Quarter for a beignet!

Ham, andouille, and peppers replace the ham and beef brisket, and you can find steak and eggs on the menu.

For dinner, you can now find shrimp scampi, New York Strip loin and herb-roasted turkey. These replace the shrimp and grits and roasted pork.
