If you are heading to the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, you might notice something is missing! Here are all the details so you can manage your expectations.
Fixes and Refurbishments
Every once in a while an attraction or area in Walt Disney World needs a refurbishment, an update, or some repair work. Sometimes this causes an entire attraction to be shut down. For example, several refurbishments on the horizon will require a complete ride closure including Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Kali River Rapids, and Rock ‘n Roller Coaster. You can click each link for details if you need them.
However, some types of repairs, changes, and maintenance can be accomplished without closing a ride. For instance, you might notice the Kylo Ren Audio-Animatronic missing on Rise of the Resistance and a “B-mode” video version of him in its place.
Guests can still enjoy the majority of the attraction. While some Guests will remain blissfully unaware, other Guests may notice things are missing and/or out of place. Such is the case in the Magic Kingdom right now.
Someone is Missing
Late last night, we noticed that someone was missing from a beloved attraction. If you plan to ride “it’s a small world” while you are touring in Fantasyland, you might notice it too!
You may already know that “it’s a small world” is full of rooms of singing dolls representing cultures from around the world. From time to time some of the dolls vanish and reappear.
Right now Don Quixote is missing from his usual spot facing off against the windmills. Poor little Sancho Panza and his trusty steed have been left all alone to fend for themselves! Would you have noticed?
Watch out for missing Audio-Animatronics on “it’s a small world”.
Would you be sad if one of your favorite parts of an attraction is missing the next time you take a ride in Walt Disney World? Have you ever noticed something missing on a ride? Let us know in the comments. And, as always, feel free to pass the story along.
