The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is Disney World’s flagship resort. It is a stunning hotel with world-class restaurants and fun amenities. You need to know about this warning as it may definitely affect your visit.
Disney’s Grand Floridian
Although the Grand Floridian is not the first Disney Resort, it is one of the most well-known. Themed after the Victorian elegance of turn-of-the-century Florida beach towns, the white buildings and red gabled roofs are unmistakable as you enter the Magic Kingdom area.
Did you know the resorts in the Magic Kingdom area reflect the various lands of the park? The Grand Floridian represents Main Street, U.S.A. with its elegant old-time feel.
The resort opened in the summer of 1988 and is home to many restaurants, the Disney Wedding Pavilion, and almost 1,000 rooms. It has become known as Disney’s flagship resort, and it is on the bucket list for many Disney fans despite the high price tag.

Testing
As the busy holiday season winds down, the Grand Floridian will still likely draw many visitors. After all, the life-size gingerbread house and huge Christmas tree still have a few days left before they are taken down!
In common areas of the resort, signs warn Guests about fire alarm testing. Testing will take place today, January 3. We are unsure if this will affect rooms as well or just common areas. The sign also does not specify what time(s) the testing will take place.
The sign reads: To better assist you in planning your stay, we would like to make you aware of a scheduled fire alarm test. This test will be conducted on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. You may experience loud ringing tones during this time.
