The holidays are over, but the parks are still very busy. We have PROOF Hollywood Studios continues to be the busiest of the four theme parks.
Hollywood Studios
You may think Magic Kingdom is the most popular and busiest theme park for the holidays. After all, nothing matches the energy of Main Street during this time of year!
But alas, Hollywood Studios has proven itself to be the standout star for 2023/2024. The park debuted a brand new event for the holiday season, called Jollywood Nights.
Additionally, we watched as Genie+ sold out at Hollywood Studios for the first time ever. It even occurred more than once! Wait times have also been very high – with many topping out at over 2 hours.
Marathon Weekend
It just so happens the final days of the holiday season coincide with Marathon Weekend. While we were ringing in the new year on Monday, runners tied their shoelaces up for the start of races on Thursday.
With these two major events occurring within days of one another, it doesn’t really feel like the crowds have left. We were at Hollywood Studios and noticed a lot of people and a lot of very long lines.
Long Lines Everywhere
For example, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular was at capacity for most shows today, January 5. In fact, people coming in via standby line were mostly forced to stand. Genie+ users had taken up the entire theater!
Here is a brief rundown of current wait times of anything over 45 minutes:
- 45 minutes: Olaf
- 50 minutes: Alien Swirling Saucers
- 55 minutes: Disney Stars at Red Carpet Dreams
- 100 minutes: Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
- 105 minutes: Tower of Terror
- 120 minutes: Smuggler’s Run
- 130 minutes: Toy Story Mania
- 200 minutes: Slinky Dog Dash
- 225 minutes: Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
And Rise of the Resistance is temporarily closed because why wouldn’t it be?!
Guests also waited in pretty long lines for characters. In particular, Toy Story characters were very popular. Check out how busy it is in Toy Story Land today!
However, Max, Edna, and the live-action Ariel had short waits. Be sure to utilize Character Locator to help you make the most of these busy days. It’s also helpful to have character schedules and showtimes for live-shows at your fingertips!
