Disney Announces a New DVD and Blu-ray Release Date

What is the next Disney-owned movie that will be dropping on DVD and Blu-ray for you to enjoy in your home? We have the answer and release dates for you!

Recently, it came to light that Disney has stopped producing physical media in countries like Australia and New Zealand. So, it is refreshing to see that release dates for new Disney content in the form of Blu-rays and DVDs are still dropping in North America.

It is true that digital media is simple to store, navigate, and utilize. However, some consumers still like having access to hard copies of their favorite movies and television series. My (Kate) own family still uses an ancient portable DVD player on long road trips, so it is nice to add to our collection now and then for some variety.

A New Release Date

Now, the Walt Disney Company has announced its next movie that will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray. It will also be available on digital media.

Marvel’s recent theatrical release The Marvels is coming to you soon! The Marvels is the sequel to the film Captain Marvel.

The film is the shortest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, clocking in at just one hour and forty-five minutes. It also has the unfortunate distinction of being the lowest-grossing Marvel theatrical release of all time, bringing in just $80 million domestically and $197 million globally during its run. In fact, after 4 weeks, Disney stopped reporting the box-office results.

Hopefully, this film will perform better in terms of physical and digital media sales. And, soon it can be yours! You can expect The Marvels to hit digital media on January 16, 2024. It will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on February 16, 2024.

There is no word on when it will come to Disney+ for subscribers to enjoy just yet. However, we should know soon, so stay tuned.
