Refurbishment is not a fun word to hear when it comes to your Disney World vacation. But, they are necessary to keep everything running properly. See which shops just quietly closed for refurbishment.
Refurbishments
Refurbishments are a part of life at Disney Parks. These may take place for various reasons. Whether it be for mechanical issues or cosmetic updates, a refurbishment can take place for many reasons. Based on the nature of the work, the refurbishment may take a few days or several months.
Although the Disney Parks stay busy throughout the calendar year, there are slower times for the parks. With the growing list of refurbishments, it appears that January may be “Refurbishment Month” for the Disney Parks.
Currently Closed
Unfortunately, Basin White quietly closed for refurbishment recently. This includes the locations at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney Springs. Disney Springs is the larger location of the two, which makes it the better shopping experience.
What is Basin White? Basin White is a shop that offers chemical-free bath and skincare items. You can find bath bombs, specialty soaps, sugar scrubs, and even sugar soufflés at Basin White.
You can create your own bath salt tubes, purchase your Mickey confetti-filled bath bomb, and more. We are sad to see it is closed. Read more about why Donna loves this place so much in this post.
What Does This Mean For You?
With this shops both closed, you have a couple options. There is a small temporary location inside the Wonderful World of Memories store that you can visit.
Second, there is a small pop-up kiosk inside the World Showcase at Epcot. You can find it near the Germany pavilion. This does not appear to be a long refurbishment, although we do not have official reopening dates other than February 2024.
