You may have seen Cinderella Castle float across Roku City on your television screen. Now, get ready for another Disney icon to appear! Roku just announced a new partnership.
Roku City
Fan-favorite Roku City is not just a screensaver for millions of Roku streamers, but a purple-hued digital downtown, packed with movie and TV references. In fact, 85% of Roku subscribers have watched the screensaver scroll by as they take streaming breaks.
As the No. 1 TV streaming platform with over 75M active accounts, Roku is partnering with Disney Cruise Line, to showcase the next ship in their fleet, the Disney Treasure, in Roku City.
This will not be the first time Roku and Disney have partnered! Cinderella Castle just made its debut last month. Read about Cinderella Castle making its debut in Roku City in this post.
Disney Treasure
The Roku City takeover is to celebrate Disney Treasure’s upcoming December 2024 launch and bring a touch of Disney magic to streamers. The scene includes nods to some of the spaces and activities in store for everyone in the family on and off the ship. These include:
- the Haunted Mansion Parlor
- the Broadway-style show “Disney The Tale of Moana”
- Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island paradise in The Bahamas
Scenes include ship references from Haunted Mansion, Moana, and Castaway Cay.
Bringing Joy!
This collaboration brings joy and makes Disney Cruise Line unmissable to streamers. As Disney fans, the Treasure ship will be unmistakable as it floats across the screen! I know I can’t wait to see it the next time I turn on my Roku!
Roku City has become a beloved screensaver for millions of Roku streamers, and we are excited Roku continues to partner with The Walt Disney Company.
