It may not sound surprising to you that something in Epcot is closed. A lot has been going on in this park for years! But, the area that recently closed is unexpected so we wanted to pass along the news to you.
Epcot: Transformation Almost Complete
Epcot has been in a state of transformation since late 2019 when the first construction walls went up. Since then, they added new attractions like Moana, Journey of Water; Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure; and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
There have also been new restaurants, new fireworks shows, a new statue, and so much more. The transformation is almost complete! We are just waiting on CommuniCore Hall and Plaza this year.
Disney appears to be wanting to make sure other areas of the park are maintained as well.
Construction in the UK Pavilion
Recently, Disney did some light maintenance/repair work in the Canada Pavilion. Now, it’s the UK Pavilion’s turn.
The United Kingdom pavilion is such a wonderful area to explore. While many of the World Showcase pavilions are inspired by a specific landmark, United Kingdom gets its design from experiencing the British countryside. This British-themed pavilion represents the four countries of the United Kingdom; England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The area that is closed off is the garden behind Alice’s meet and greet. Disney installed scaffolding on the buildings and appears to be touching up paint and making sure everything is in great condition.
The walkway is closed from the arch back to the entrance of the garden area. Below, I specified on the map where exactly the construction is and the area that is blocked off:
More Work to Come?
Disney likes to start in Canada vs Mexico (IYKYK), but the fact that they are doing this type of work one pavilion after the other makes us wonder if this will also occur in other pavilions.
Will France be next? What about the rest of the pavilions? It’s possible work could continue in Epcot for months to come. We are unsure when UK’s area will reopen, but thankfully you can still access most of the pavilion.
