Figment is not the only star this year! There are new photo backgrounds at EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts featuring popular animated films in addition to returning ones.
Festival of the Arts
From January 12 to February 19, 2024, the EPCOT Festival of the Arts will take place, featuring the visual, performing, and culinary arts with a Disney twist. Guests can enjoy a variety of art forms and activities such as the larger-than-life Figment mural, meeting your favorite Disney artists, and cool Magic Shots.
In addition, there is Figment-themed festival merchandise, Disney on Broadway concerts, performers, and delightfully colorful and tasty food and beverages exclusive to the festival.
Returning Photo Backgrounds
One of the festival’s immersive experiences is the Artful Photo Ops, which allows guests to step into large-scale renderings of famous pieces of art and pose for photos. Most locations have a PhotoPass photographer available to capture the moment.
Returning photo backgrounds include “Luncheon of the Boating Party” by Pierre-Auguste Renoir at the International Gateway, “Washington Crossing the Delaware” by Emanuel Leutze at The American Adventure, “Mona Lisa” by Leonardo da Vinci, and “The Scream” by Edvard Munch, both located between the Italy Pavilion and Germany Pavilion and “An Homage to Frida Kahlo” at the Mexico Pavilion.
When we visited the Festival of the Arts, only Italy and America had PhotoPass photographers.
Popular Disney Movie Backgrounds
In addition to these, new photo backgrounds will be featured, including popular animated films. The new backgrounds will replace “Cafe Terrace at Night” and “Sunflowers” by Vincent van Gogh at the Bridge to World Showcase and “Birth of Venus” at the Italy Pavilion Courtyard.
First, take a look at the Mary Poppins movie background featuring the popular penguins scene.
You’re in for a treat with this next photo op. Now you can step inside the Wish movie!
Last, but not least, you can become part of the beloved classic Disney film Sleeping Beauty.
Are you excited about these new Disney animated movie photo backgrounds? Or do you prefer the traditional artful photo ops? Please let us know in the comments and share this post with an EPCOT festival-loving friend.
